"Art is not what you see but what you make others see ." - Georgia O'Keeffe

Art has enriched our society, explained our history, and given us a living legacy . It's about a child's creativity; it builds self-esteem; and reinforces skills that help the learning process. Art is an area of study that integrates our visual, tactile, and artistic skills, stretch the imagination, and reaches all styles of intellectual learning.

Teaching in Lynbrook and sharing my love of art and art history with my students will afford me the unique opportunity to encourage creativity within a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere. Students will be encouraged to express their individual creative talents through the processes of fine art.

As a parent, art teacher and former museum educator, encouraging each student to use his or her creative abilities is my primary goal. The curriculum will include working in many different mediums and techniques to open students appreciation towards art.
